Common questions

How does the review schedule work?

Each fact comes back 1, 3, 7, 16, 35, 80 and 180 days after you learn it, one step per successful review. A miss brings it back tomorrow and drops it two steps. Practicing the same fact twice in one day does not count twice.

What does "Ready to pass" mean?

Readiness counts a fact once you have remembered it on a review weeks after learning it, weighted the way the FAA weights the test's subjects. The pass line is 70%, the same as the real test.

How do I change my test date?

Today → the gear button → Your test.

Is the practice test like the real one?

It has 60 questions with three choices each, a 2-hour limit and a 70% pass line, weighted by subject like the FAA test. Unanswered questions count as wrong, and your misses are listed by ACS code. The questions are written for Groundwork; they are not the FAA's test questions.

Will my progress move to a new iPhone?

Progress is stored on your iPhone and included in your iPhone backup, so restoring a backup to a new iPhone brings it along.

How do I start over?

Today → the gear button → Reset all progress. This cannot be undone.

Can I use Groundwork instead of a ground school or instructor?

No. Groundwork is a study aid. You still need an instructor's endorsement to take the knowledge test, and current FAA publications always take priority over the app.
